In 2025, China’s global exports of ammonium sulfate reached 21.36 million tons. Among them, exports to Brazil totaled 7.76 million tons.
Notably, Brazil’s ammonium sulfate imports reached approximately 7.8 million tons, almost on par with its urea imports.
This naturally raises an important question:
Can ammonium sulfate replace part of the demand for urea?
In my view, the answer is clearly yes.
Beyond strong demand in traditional markets, China’s ammonium sulfate exports to Europe also hit a new high in 2025. Is this increase mainly influenced by urea market, or driven by CBAM?
This is a trend worth close attention.
