On April 25, Qingdao Customs identified some cases where exporters falsely declared urea and potash fertilizers as ammonium sulfate, triggering serious regulatory concerns.
In response, General Administration of Customs of China has issued an urgent nationwide directive:
👉 100% inspection on all ammonium sulfate shipments already declared and currently at port
Further developments indicate:
👉 Retrospective investigations have been launched across multiple regions
👉 Key targets include exporters of ammonium sulfate and compound fertilizers (NPK / NP / NK) over the past 12 months
This situation has a significant impact on small-batch ammonium sulfate exports. Even when the inspection results are fully compliant, the shipper is still required to bear high port storage and container detention charges.
